| General Description: |
Phosphor Bronze is an alloy of Copper (Cu) and Tin (Sn). The addition of Tin improves work hardening of Phosphor Bronze strips by cold rolling. This alloy is characterized in good conductivity and springiness. The most common alloy is containing 5% of Tin and can reach tensile strength of approximately 700 N/mm2.
Phosphor Bronze combines good mechanical properties with conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Due to its properties Phosphor Bronze is used for electrical contacts, instrumentation, delicate bearings and other special springs. The material can be plated, thus increasing the corrosion resistance and can be easily soldered.
